Use of Diamonds

Diamond is the hardest natural material found on earth. Here are some of the common uses of diamonds in the current world.

Diamonds have many uses. About 20% of diamonds found are used for jewelry. The other 80% are used in industry. These uses include: cutting tools, polishing hard metal, phonograph and videodisc needles, and bearings for laboratory instruments.

Diamonds are beautiful and sparkle in the light. With some special characteristic diamonds sparkle like a lamp with fewer lights.

Diamonds are able to absorb much heat. This makes them ideal for use in microelectronics to conduct heat away from heat sensitive components of the electronics.

The microchips and computer processors are often covered with diamonds which are semiconductors of electricity.
